FAQs and Policies

How long will it take for my order to ship?

Made to order pieces have a 2-3 week production time. Handmade pieces are worth the wait! If you need something sooner, please contact me first and I will do my best to accommodate if possible.

One of a kind, limited runs, and pieces marked ready to ship will be shipped out within 2-4 days.

How does the jewelry ship?

All domestic orders ship via USPS Priority mail with insurance. Jewels come lovingly packaged in a box with tissue paper and tied with a hemp bow. Rings come in a quality (and rather cool, I'd say) black ring box.

Orders valued over $500 must ship with signature required for security and safety. I cannot insure packages at or above that value without signature required upon delivery.

International packages ship First Class International mail. Since its against the law to misrepresent the contents or value of a package on customs forums, all information will be filled out correctly. Many countries charge import fees and/or taxes on packages sent from other countries. I know its a bummer, but its not something I have any control over.  International packages shipped via First Class can take anywhere from 2-6 weeks to arrive.

Do you have payment plans?

I am happy to say yes, I do! I've partnered with Quadpay to offer the ability to split purchases up into 4 bi-weekly interest free payments. No credit check is required and more information can be found in each jewelry piece's page if you click on the little Quadpay logo. It's a really quick process to check out, just select Quadpay as your payment method and give them a few details and you will be set up with a payment plan! The best part is that I am able to ship to you within my normal lead times -I don't have to wait until the piece has been fully paid off.

I can also still recommend Paypal Credit, which gives you a full 6 months to pay off any purchase over $99. I'm fairly certain that is the longest time frame to pay something off that you will find out there!

What is your return policy and can I exchange?

I stand behind the quality of my work and put as many images as I can up for each piece. Should you want more information about a piece, please feel free to contact me before ordering if you have any questions or concerns, or perhaps would like an additional image.

If however, you are unhappy with your order upon receiving it and a piece does not suit you, you can return it for store credit or exchange for a piece of equal or greater value. Please contact me within 10 days of receiving your order and I will provide return instructions. Once the piece(s) are received back in original unused condition, I will issue a store credit with shipping costs deducted.

For your protection, please insure the package for the full purchase amount and package it safely in original packaging. Jay Cuneo Jewelry is not responsible for items lost or damaged during transit. Pieces must arrive back in original condition.

Please contact me if you have any issues with your order and I will do my best to help. Due to the nature of a handmade independent business, I cannot accept returns for a refund.

Can rings be resized?

So the short answer is generally no, but certain rings like my standard Relic rings, new Vestige rings and Polar rings can be stretched up between 1/4-1/2 size. Because I work with semi-precious and colored gemstones, once they are set into a design it's not possible for me to resize rings beyond stretching up a bit because these types of stones cannot handle the heat of a flame. It's not possible to stretch the bands beyond 1/2 size up as it can compromise the integrity of the metal.

If you have a local jewelry shop and they are equipped with something called a Laser Welder, they may be able to safely resize these types of rings. This is a specialized (and very expensive) piece of equipment that uses a laser to perform alterations. Because the heat is so focused and quick, it makes resizing rings with more delicate features more achievable. Even with that, there is usually a limit to how many sizes they can bring a piece up, or down. So it would be best to check with them first about what the limitations would be.

I’d love to order a ring, but I don’t know my/my love’s size. What can I do?

If you aren't sure of what ring size you or someone you love wears I highly recommend you go to a local jeweler to be sized accurately. There are inexpensive ring sizers on the market, but the most accurate sizing will come from a jeweler and their experience! Printable paper sizers and string methods are pretty unreliable and I do not recommend them.

I do have plastic ring sizers available if you are unable to get to a jeweler or do not have one locally. The ones I have have been reliable over the years! They are $10 with shipping and come with a small discount code for your next order. Just contact me to get one!

There's a finished necklace I want, but I want a different chain length. Can it be customized?

I generally do not alter finished pieces, but may be able to upon request for a fee. Please do inquire prior to purchasing if having the chain length altered is desired. Certain pieces are more complicated or material intensive to alter than others. The fee for alterations to finished pieces starts at $20.

I plan on offering separate matching extenders soon! So keep an eye out because they will increase the wearability and length options within one piece.

How do I care for JC jewels?

Since all my jewelry is handcrafted from sterling silver and natural gemstones, there are some do's and don'ts when it comes to caring for them over the years. While I wouldn't call the construction of my pieces delicate (I don't skimp on materials and every piece is durably crafted in hopes that they are lovingly worn for year after year after year), they are still handcrafted little wearable art works and some gemstones are more delicate than others. You will have received a care card in your package that gives the general run down and is true for any piece, but that sheet only lets me write so much before I have to make the font ridiculously small. So I've got a page set up that hopefully answers any and all care questions :)

You can find it here <3

Do you take custom orders?

At this time I am not taking on custom projects. If this changes in the future I will announce it to my email list and on my instagram.

For 2019, I may occasionally offer Bespoke rings to those on my mailing list. Sign up if you are interested! You also get early access to new collections and sales. The majority of pieces often sell out prior to the public online release.

What is Bespoke?

I occasionally offer pieces where there is a specific one-off stone, in a specific design style that can be finished in a requested size. Basically a piece that is in progress and not completed yet is offered up to be claimed and finished to your chosen size. Since I do not offer custom and most of my rings can't be sized due to the delicate or heat sensitive nature of the stones I work with, these Bespoke offerings are opportunities to have a special piece made just for you.
